I can just see you with the little glasses, black turtle neck, skinny jeans and a hunk of plywood. Too bad you don't smoke. That would be perfect. Maybe a pipe or skinny cigarillos?

The board got several good shots at solid hollow surf - which is what it is meant for. The first session was a mixed bag of donuts. The few waves I was able to get in early and set an edge went great. It was weird how well the board went. I am not a super-skilled ripper, but there was something to this board. It really hauled ass in the tube. But. But. When I was forced to drop in late or pull up from the bottom, the Hydromatic would waiver off the tail. Not so much spin out but just rock violently back and forth from rail to rail without an positive forward progress. I took so many violent beatings and humiliating axes to the head it was ridiculous. After one supreme thrashing I gave up.

Upon encouragement I nudged the trailed back 1/4" and paddled back out. It was still clean, solid overhead freight-train lefts. This time the board came off the bottom like a rocket and held its line on late drops perfectly. It felt a tad slower in the tube but still held through a couple ridiculous sections that I had no business making. SOLD!
